ABOUT US
Hippo Hills is just a 4 hour drive from O.R. Tambo Airport (Johannesburg, South Africa) and close to both Swaziland and Mozambique borders. The distance between Hippo Hills and Crocodile Bridge Gate is 9km and Hippo Hills and Malelane Gate is 30km. Entry into Kruger National Park must be paid for at the Gate – this is a separate fee.
ACCOMMODATION INFO
Hippo Hills accommodates 10 guests in 5 private en-suite bedrooms. The house has a fully equipped, open-plan kitchen with stove, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The spacious dining area and lounge have a Satellite TV with DStv PVR so you never have to miss the game. All this opens up to a beautiful veranda with patio table and braai/barbeque area and an inviting infinity pool.
The house is fully serviced by a friendly and dedicated team. House keeping is included from Monday – Saturday. Should you require housekeeping on a Sunday that will be at an additional fee.
ACTIVITIES
Once booked with us, guests may arrange Kruger Park game drives and/or guided walks at the Gate. These come highly recommended. Alternatively, our fly-in guests can hire a vehicle at the airport and go on private, self-drive game drives. Remember your camera and binoculars!
The house is part of a large resort called Ngwenya Lodge and many daily activities can be arranged such as;
Wildlife safari encounters, Micro-lighting, Game Drives, Quad Biking, Tiger Fishing.
The more adventurous can experience the unique thrill of a foot safari accompanied by an armed game ranger and Shangaan tracker who will walk the bush with you, show you how to stalk impala and the short-sighted rhinoceros or chuckle at the antics of a family of monkeys.

Our visitors are also welcome to go across the Crocodile Bridge Gate, Kruger Park (10 minutes away) on a self-drive or an open-vehicle game drive organised directly with Crocodile Bridge. Very often guests opt not to go for a drive as most of the game can be seen from your private patio throughout the day.

We are considered a malaria area and necessary malaria precautions must be taken by guests prior to arrival. While on-site, use regular mosquito repellents.
